No knead bread recipe, 4 November 2023

We've changed the clocks and the nights are drawing in.  It's Bonfire Night tomorrow and definitely baked potato weather with our lovely local organic potatoes - see our fruit and vegetable price guide.  Another reminder to get your orders in for Christmas poultry, meat and fish as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We are also taking orders for g/f mince pies and Christmas cakes.
A customer came in the shop this week and was telling us about his No-knead bread recipe and here it is:

520g strong flour
1tsp salt
1/2tsp instant yeast
500ml tepid water

(Smaller loaf 420g flour = 390ml tepid water)

Mix in bowl with a spoon
Cover and leave 4-6hrs (or 1-2hrs in warm oven)
Tip out onto well-floured baking parchment
Pull edges over to shape into a loose round cob shape

 Pre-heat oven to 220c and in a Dutch oven/casserole dish lift in with paper
Bake
35mins lid on
Lower oven to 180c bake 10-15mins lid off
