Beetroot, 15 February 2025

Let's focus on our local organic beetroot which can be roasted, grated and eaten raw or cooked for 5 mins in a pressure cooker. According to Professor Tim Spector from Zoe beetroot contains a large number of polyphenols including unique betaine pigments and nutrients like vitamin C, folate, potassium, and fibre. There are studies that show eating beetroot can reduce blood pressure - see his full post on Facebook. Other local organic produce flying off our shelves are our eggs - very popular!

Curried parsnip soup, 1 February 2025
